After the sexual assault allegations, Capital Preparatory School Harlem cuts ties with Sean Diddy Combs!
American rapper, Sean Combs is in deep legal trouble. Three women accused him of sexual assault and other related crimes. And now, his co-founded charter school has axed him from their organization. Know what all happened after the sexual allegations against Diddy.
Sean Diddy Combs axed by his co-founded charter school
Sean Diddy Combs, American rapper, 54 has been embroiled in legal issues lately. This year, three women accused Diddy of sexual assaults and related crimes. Due to this disgraceful alleged actions, several companies s have removed his name from their organizations. The latest to do so his the charter school that he co-founded in 2016.
Capital Preparatory School started seven years back with the help of Diddy. And now, the charter school has decided to cut ties with him. Dr. Steve Perry, the the founder of Capital Preparatory Schools, made a confirmatory statement on it on 28 November 2023. He said:
“Following a comprehensive evaluation, a decision has been made to end the partnership between Capital Preparatory Schools and Sean Combs,”
“While this decision was not made lightly, we firmly believe it is in the best interest of our organization’s health and future.”
This statement came after several media outlets tried to get in touch with the organization and know the inner story. Those messages were not answered. But this statement proves that the rumors were true.
Diddy’s other brand break-ups
Diddy’s clothing brand Sean Johns was sold at Macy’s with whom he had a partnership. An unnamed source told Radar Online that these clothes were sold on Macy’s website and also select stores since last many decades. But now, Macy’s has decided to phase out the clothing brand.
However, the decision to do so was not related to the sexual assault allegations and started much before that. The insider revealed that from this month, Diddy’s clothing brand would not make it to the shelves of Macy’s. The source stated:
“As part of our ongoing review of our brand portfolio, the Sean John collection has started to phase out of assortment since early fall 2023,”
The branded clothes were not selling well as they did in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Additionally, Diddy had founded a media company called Revolt. He was its chairman and has now decided to step down from this company. He had co-founded it in 2013 and Detavio Samuels is its CEO and Deon Graham the Chief Brand Officer. Revolt’s Instagram post on it read:
“Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of Revolt. While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that Revolt remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora,”
The sexual accusations against Diddy
On 17 November 2023, Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against him and accused him of physical abuse, sex trafficking, rape and more. The case was dismissed after the two reached a confidential agreement next day.
But on 23 November 2023, two other women accused him of sexual assault and revenge porn. Joi Dickerson-Neal said that in 1991, she was a victim of drugging and rape. Another woman with Jane Doe name in the court documents also accused the musician of raping her and her friend in 1990 and 1991.
Earlier, his personal chef, Cindy Ruela, in May 2017 had sued him for sexual harassment and retaliation. It was settled out of court in February 2019.
