Shane Victorino signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 8, 1999. He played in the minor league system. Finally, in 2002, he reached Double-A with the Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League.

In the 2002 Rule 5 draft, he was selected by the San Diego Padres and he soon made his Major League Baseball Debut.  He played 36 games for the Padres and averaged .151 batting average.

After playing in the minor leagues for some time, he returned to the Major League with the Phillies. He became a starting player in 2006. In 2008, he won the World Series by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays.

In 2012, Victorino played 101 games for the Phillies and hit .261 with 9 homers, 24 steals, and 40 RBI. He left the Phillies as a World Series Champion, All-Star, and Rawlings Gold Glove Award Winner.

He was traded back to the Dodgers on July 31, 2012. In 53 games, he hit .245 with 2 homers, 15 steals, and 15 RBI. He joined the Boston Red Sox in December of 2012 and won his second World Series in 2013.

He played only 30 games in 2014 because of his injury. In July 2015, he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels. He had a combined record of 71 games played, batting .230, with 1 home run and 7 RBIs in 2015.

He played for Chicago Cubs before announcing his retirement on July 3, 2018.
