Sharon Acker, who is famous for playing the role of Lee Marvin’s cheating wife in the 1967 movie Point Blank, passed away on March 16 while staying in a residential home in Toronto.
A day later, her daughter and a casting director, Kim Everest, announced her mother’s death on Facebook. She wrote:
“Yesterday at 3:30 pm we lost a most incredible lady. My mama Sharon Acker Elkington. my daughter Alexis wrote a beautiful tribute to her and for now it just feels perfect to share it. My sister Gillian Macdonald , myself, my daughter Alexis, my moms dear friend Ruth and moms lovely caregiver were all around her, holding her hands and soothing her with gentle massage to her arms and legs as she slipped away so peacefully and quietly.”

She added:
“We held hands and Ruth sang my mamas favourite hymn …and she was gone …but she’s not , she is everywhere. Hey mom like Alexis said, don’t forget to check in. We love you so so much Our Sisters Kim Elkington and Caitlin Elkington both out of town are in our hearts.”
Her cousin, David Glover, also confirmed her death and posted a tribute on Facebook:
“My wife Judy and I were very close with Sharon and we spoke regularly even after she moved back to Toronto to be close to with daughters and family. I can never forget Sharon’s million dollar smile. She made everyone she came in contact with feel so much better.”
Acker is survived by her children, Kim and Gillian, granddaughter Alexis, great-granddaughter Berkeley, and stepchildren Kim and Caitlin.
Sharon Acker was a Canadian actress born on April 2, 1935, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She started her acting career in the mid-1950s, working in both television and film.

Back in 1956, she portrayed Mrs. Stacey, the teacher, in CBC’s adaptation of Anne of Green Gables.
Following that, she joined the Stratford Shakespeare Festival company and played Anne Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor, alongside William Shatner who would later star with her in Star Trek.
Her acting career continued until 1994. She was a talented and versatile actress, with a career spanning over four decades, and was known for her beauty, intelligence, and amazing performances.
In addition to her acting career, Acker was also a playwright and poet. She wrote several plays, including George’s Room, which was produced in Toronto and New York.
