Shia LaBeouf finally addresses claims made by Olivia Wilde
Shia LaBeouf spoke about the dispute that Olivia Wilde fired him from Don’t Worry Darling just when the production was starting in 2020.
While director Olivia claimed that she was the one who threw the actor out of her upcoming movie, LaBeouf said nothing like that ever happened.
The 36-year-old actor revealed that he chose to step out of the film because he felt the actors were not given enough time to rehearse.
On August 24, Wilde opened up about LaBeouf’s departure from the film saying:
“I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances,”
She concluded:
”I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them. That was my job,”

Shia revealed what really happened behind the scenes
After Wilde’s statement went viral, LaBeouf thought that now was the time to speak his side of the truth.
The actor forwarded two emails that he apparently sent to Wilde after her claims.
His mail read:
“You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”
Various sources gave their narrative about Shia’s exit. Some even claimed he was fired because his style of acting wasn’t a good fit for what Wilde wanted.
Shia was cast as the lead actor Jack, whose role was later portrayed by Harry Styles.
To prove his point, Shia also sent screenshots of text messages that he sent to Olivia where he told her he’d have to walk out of the movie.
If that alone was not enough, Shia even shared a video that Wilde allegedly sent him on August. 19, 2020, just two days after he left.
In the video, the Booksmart actress said:
“I feel like I’m not ready to give up on this yet, and I, too, am heartbroken and I want to figure this out,”
“You know, I think this might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo, and I want to know if you’re open to giving this a shot with me, with us.
If she really commits, if she really puts her mind and heart into it at this point and if you guys can make peace — and I respect your point of view, I respect hers — but if you guys can do it, what do you think? Is there hope? Will you let me know?”
