American rapper and businessman, Jay-Z is in a fresh legal trouble. His name has cropped up in a lawsuit of rape of a minor girl in 2000 along with that of the disgraced rapper, Diddy. The lawsuit that was filed in October of this year states that Jay-Z had raped a minor in the year 2000 when she was 13 years of age.

This news has angered the fans of his wife, singer Beyonce. They want her to separate from Jay-Z, 55 and legally divorce him. One of her fans commented on social media:

What is the rape lawsuit against Jay-Z?

A lawsuit was filed in the federal court of New York in October 2024 in which Diddy had been named the rapist who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old minor in New York City at an afterparty of the MTV Music Awards in the year 2000. But this Sunday, 8th December 2024, the lawsuit was updated and the name of rapper Jay-Z was added as a defendant in the case.

As per the updated lawsuit, the party was hosted by Diddy and the girl was drugged before being raped. At the start, Jay-Z’s name was just put as ‘Celebrity A’ but now his name has clearly come up in the court documents.

Moreover, Jay-Z has filed a counter lawsuit against the lawyer of the plaintiff’s case. Tony Buzbee for harassment. In return, Tony has also filed another case against the law firm that is representing Jay-Z and Diddy, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan. He has accused the firm of trying to intimidate his family and colleagues.

Jay-Z’s response to the lawsuit

On learning about this lawsuit, Jay-Z filed his response at the Southern District Court in New York. He stated that the rape allegations against him are false. He vehemently denied all the allegations. The rapper added that this case is an attempt to malign him and blackmail him.

Jay-Z also went on to criticize the prosecution lawyer on this case, Tony Buzbee. Jay-Z claimed that Tony is doing some exploitative theatrics against him to defame him. His response statement reads:

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?
“These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case. This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!”
