Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens officially tied the knot at a courthouse ceremony in Houston, Texas on April 22, 2023.
Even though they are now legally married, the wedding festivities remain to celebrate. The Olympic gymnast, 26, confessed in an Instagram Story Q&A session a day after their courthouse wedding that they are planning a destination wedding.
Biles told her followers on Instagram,
“We will be having a wedding in a couple of weeks. We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S. since our wedding will be a destination wedding,”

Further, the soon-to-be bride has yet to share the location of her destination wedding.
However, she did mention that some of her guests were awaiting passports, so they could exchange vows outside the country.
Simone Biles provides some sneak peeks of her bridal attire
The Olympic gold medallist revealed over the weekend on her Instagram Story that she will wear four gowns to her upcoming destination wedding.
“How many dresses are we gonna see?,” a fan question during the Q&A segment, to which Biles replied that she had chosen four bridal gowns for her big day. She explained,
“Kind of dramatic but you only have a wedding once,”
In addition, Simone gave her fans a preview of the rest of the day revealing the couple chose a color scheme of champagne, gold, and white for the upcoming wedding.
She then went on to acknowledge that she and her NFL star husband overexerted the decor, saying their flowers were the most expensive items. She quipped,
“We went so over budget that we decided there is no longer a budget,”
Further, she stated that eight bridesmaids and seven groomsmen would accompany them to the altar and that 140 guests would witness their vow exchange.

The ceremony will take place in an intimate setting as she would not provide plus ones for her friends and family. She revealed,
“I know this is controversial, but I’m always meeting people on a day-to-day basis, and I love that. But on my wedding day, I didn’t want to meet any new people.”
