Emeli Sande and her split from rapper boyfriend

The famous singer Emeli Sande was dating rapper Jonathan Kabambe who raps under the taken name of Rychus Ryter. But now reports have emerged that the couple has broken up.

A source revealed to Bizarre Column of The Sun newspaper:

“Emeli and Jonathan have split up in the past few weeks as they couldn’t make their relationship work.”

He clarified:

“There’s no hard feelings but obviously, in such a difficult year, it has been hard to keep the spark alive.”

The insider added:

“She has thrown herself into work and has been trying to make loads of music in the last few months.”

The source said that she is surely channeling her hurt and pain emotions into the songs that she has been writing anew. There has been no release of her songs yet but it is likely to come out this year-end or early next year. The couple has also deleted each other’s photos from their social media.

Emeli and Jonathan-the relationship timeline

The singer and the rapper started dating this year. But it was only in July that they went public with their relationship status with each other. Emeli, 33 posted about her relationship with the rapper on her Instagram in July 2020.

Emeli posted at that time:

“My Love, my King, Thank you for all the light, strength, and joy you have brought into my life. I feel capable of anything with you by my side.”

But now comes the end of this budding relationship. They separated within less than a year of dating. The exact reason is not known but as the source revealed it was that they could not make their relationship work. Besides, the stress that this year of coronavirus put on relationships also took its toll.

Emeli and her mental health issues

In 2014, Emeli split from her husband Adam Gouraguine. Subsequently, she was pushed into anxiety and depression. She revealed that she was in a doubt at that time about whether she would be able to continue as a singer and musician.

She said:

“I doubted whether I wanted to continue being a musician. I questioned whether people wanted to hear me because people were saying I was on TV too much. People said I was overexposed. And then I thought, ‘Maybe I don’t have a place in this music industry, and if people don’t want to hear it, what shall I do?’ I was going through my separation and really trying to get my head around the industry and where I sat in it.”

Emeli Sande’s real name is Adele Emily Sande. She was engaged to Adam in 2012. This happened after 7 years of dating Adam who was a marine biologist. On 15 September 2012, they wed in Emeli’s home nation of Montenegro. But in November 2014, they called it quits.
