Smiling again! Patton Oswalt makes red carpet debut with new girlfriend Meredith Salenger one year after wife’s death
The reason behind his wife Michelle was discovered…
In April 2016 Patton Oswalt discovered his wife Michelle unresponsive in their bed after she died in her sleep.
In February, Michelle’s cause of death was revealed in a statement released by the comedian’s publicist.
The source wrote,
“We learned today the combination of drugs in Michelle’s system, along with a condition we were unaware of, proved lethal,”
The 48-year-old writer had apparently been taking Adderall, Xanax, and Fentanyl when she passed, unaware she had a medical condition that caused blockages in her arteries. Patton is a father to Alice, eight, with his late wife.

Patton, 51, teamed a blue shirt with a navy suit and matching shoes as he beamed next to the Lake Placid star. The pretty Malibu-born actress wore a flirty ruffle skirt with a black top and leather jacket.
She completed the look with ankle-strap heels and a leather clutch. In an endearing post on Instagram, Meredith declared her love for the actor and comedian.
She wrote,
“I’m super in love guys. Just FYI.”
The Veep actor, 53, stepped out at the Baby Driver premiere in Los Angeles alongside Hollywood Heights actress Meredith Salenger. The duo held hands and smiled as they posed for photos.
Salenger, 50, also took to Twitter to share a sweet selfie with Oswalt. “#BabyDriverMovie,” she wrote. “With @pattonoswalt”
The comedian recently penned a touching tribute to his late wife, who died in her sleep in April 2016 due to prescription medications and an undiagnosed heart condition.
“It’s awful, but it’s not fatal,” Oswalt wrote on Facebook on April 21 before beginning a detailed explanation of the day his wife of 11 years died.
“I’m not making today any sort of dark ritual or painful memorial. No graveside visit. Those are for when Alice and I have something exciting to say to her. No candle lighting or balloon launching. We think of her every day — she’s still so tied into our worlds, in a way that’s encouraging, and energizing. So why light a flame that will die, or release a balloon that will disappear? Michelle’s gone but she wasn’t the kind of soul that disappears or dies out.”

The Comedian talks about his life without his wife…
The actor went on to describe how his life had changed in the year without his wife, with whom he shared their 11-year-old daughter, Alice. “I plan things better. I’m more patient,” he wrote.
“I still sleep badly, and my weight and health need some work, but that’s combat damage. There’s got to be a way to fix those without being sh-tty to friends and strangers who are struggling with chaos. I’ll try. One year in. Another year starting. It’s awful, but it’s not fatal. Message received? Over and out.”
We’re sure Oswalt’s grief over McNamara’s passing has not been mitigated by the passage of time, but fans can take heart knowing that the beloved comic is living his life in the fashion his wife would have wanted – working, caring for his daughter, and possibly finding love with a new partner.
Oswalt attended the Los Angeles premiere of the new Edgar Wright film Baby Driver last night, and by his side was 50-year-old actress Meredith Salenger. A Harvard-educated actress, Salenger has appeared in a number of films, including Lake Placid and Hollywood Heights.
She also does voice work for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which no doubt appeals to a confirmed Star Wars obsessive like Patton. Patton and Salenger reportedly held hands and posed for photos on the red carpet.
Neither has confirmed that they’re dating, but Salenger recently informed her social media followers that she’s “super in love.”
