Jennifer Lopez is in hot water after announcing the launch of her new alcohol brand, Delola.
The On The Floor singer announced her Italian coast-inspired beverage company with all the excitement on Wednesday on her Instagram page.
However, fans had a completely different opinion of her new venture and slammed her saying that the star herself is not a drinker.
The Papi singer said in the Instagram video promoting the drink,
“I have been grinding non-stop for decades, and more and more I’m realizing the importance of enjoying life,”
The Let’s Get Loud hitmaker added,
“I just wanted to create something better — something better tasting, better ingredients, something I would want to drink with my friends and family, and that is Delola.”
Minutes after the actress shared the clip with her 240 million followers, disappointed fans rushed to the comment section to slam her decision.
One fan commented,
“Oh wow. This is disappointing,”
”Why not create a NA brand considering you’ve been outspoken about the negative affects of alcohol and that you yourself don’t drink? This feels so off-brand for you, genuinely curious why you’re selling alcohol.”
Another fan added,
“Jlo you don’t drink. This is like something that is known and has been pointed out on numerous occasions. I mean….I get it- a coin is a coin- but mama you don’t drink alcohol.”
A third fan agreed, writing,
“She doesn’t even drink but get that bag girl,”
A fourth chimed in,
“But you literally don’t drink? This is such a money grab ugh.”

Fans also addressed Lopez’s husband’s past alcohol struggles
There were some fans who wanted to know why Lopez chose to launch and promote alcohol when her husband Ben Affleck had issues with alcohol in the past. The actor also landed in rehab many times due to the extreme effects of alcoholism.
One user wrote,

“J.Lo was an inspiration for me to stay away from alcohol, tho she is not sober, she talked about how she rarely drinks and if she does it’s a celebratory sip, so it’s a bummer she is promoting alcohol when there are so many great NA drinks!”

While JLo is yet to comment on this topic, she revealed that the project took two years to work on.
The actress also noted that the brand’s name is actually her nickname that shows her “more playful, carefree side.”
