Stan won his first ATP title in the 2006 Croatia Open Umag and successfully positioned 29 in the world rankings. Later that year, Stan Wawrinka lost in round three at the Australian Open.

After that victory became his habit, he earned his second Grand Slam in the 2015 French Open. Unfortunately in 2017, he had a knee injury as a French Open finalist against the match with Rafael Nadal and underwent knee surgery for damaged tissues.
