After less than six months of dating, it appears rapper Bow Wow (aka Shad Moss) is now engaged to Love & Hip-Hop star Erica Mena.

While walking the red carpet at Saturday’s 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards, Mena was asked by red carpet reporter Jack Thriller if Bow Wow was indeed her boyfriend. She said:

“Uhh..he’s actually my fiancé,”

Mena and Bow Wow, born Shad Gregory Moss, met when Erica appeared on his hit music show. They had smooched on the show’s infamous couch, where he’s previously locked lips with the likes of supermodel Tyra Banks.

Soon after, Mena and Bow Wow then officially began dating. The reality star called into New York’s Hot 97 FM to confirm the news Monday.

“I still can’t believe it’s real, I’m doing things different with this one. I’m protecting this one more than ever.”

Mena was last involved in a same-sex relationship with Cyn Santana. When queried about the broken engagement, Erica said:

Erica Mena and Bow Wow: Reason Behind Break Up

The news hit the tabloids in 2015 that the reality star’s relationship with Shad Moss ended after only a short period of getting together. It was unclear as to what was the cause, but Mena came clean as to why the seemingly happy couple quickly crashed and burned.

The reason behind the split is maybe a little more shocking. Erica said:

“He’s an abuser,”

She’s not referring to physical, but instead, mind games that she most definitely asserts the former 106 & Park host played during their time that they were together.

“I’ve been quiet about it because we were engaged, but obviously he was in his feelings after my Snapchat post…I could have gone public about our breakup a month ago, He does this to make headlines. Just leave me alone, I moved on; why are you still in your feelings? He’s literally posting about Joie [his daughter’s mother] to get on my nerves and it’s not working. He’s posting it to fu*k with her head and to try to get a reaction out of me. Listen, I walked away silently.”

Erica later revealed that she’s at a different place in her life, a state of peace.

“I feel like people have seen me on reality TV having to fight, but at this point in my life, I deserve peace. I’m in a different place now. When it comes to Shad, this is the man I at one point really considered marrying, He is the one I decided to say yes to, but once the mask came off, I realized I had made a bad choice…It’s sad, because we had a real friendship and we could have had a good life after the fact that our relationship was over. But at the end of the day, we’ve been separated for some time and I’m ready to move on.”

She added:

“He has a lot of demons he needs to deal with. He needs to talk to someone.”
