The strange and perplexing celebrity endorsements of all times!
Celebrities earn a fair share of their earnings from product endorsements. Some of the endorsements do seem appropriate but there are some which make us wonder why did the celebrities in the first place agree and decide to do that particular ad. Some of such weird celebrity endorsements are outlined below:
Justin Bieber and OPI Nail Polishes
Justin Bieber is now no doubt a famous Canadian tattooed and a husband. But in his early days, he was a teen icon and a heartthrob of many girls worldwide.
The makers of OPI Nails and Nail Polishes decided to encash on his female-dominated popularity. So in they started a Justin-branded nail polish. It was a purple and orange nail polish endorsed by Justin and was called One Less Lonely Girl. This trick helped and their product sold well.
Kris Jenner and Poise Bladder Leak Pads
Strangely, sometimes celebrities are ready to endorse any product which they might not have ever used. So mother Kris Jenner joined her name with Poise Bladder Leak Pads.
It came as no surprise to anyone since the Kardashian-Jenner clan to known for putting their names with any product-be small or big, inferior or superior! And people thought that Kris has given birth to 6 children and hence might be suffering from some stress incontinence.
Snoop Dogg and his endorsement for Hot Pocket
The rapper Snoop Dogg had once endorsed the cheesy snack Hot Pockets. In 2012, he sang ‘Pocket It Like It’s Hot. He appeared in the commercial as well for Hot Pocket and in it there were some scantily dressed women and the giant Hot Pocket was dressed up like a pimp….People were disturbed by this presentation. Besides, many wondered whether Snoop Dogg is a rich person and where and when did he taste and have Hot Pocket.
Ozzy Osbourne and the buttery condiment
The member of Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne was on the commercial for a butter-like spread. He was with a look-alike in the commercial ‘I Can’t Believe it’s not Butter’. People were confused by this ad. It had caught their attention and they could not figure out why Ozzy had in the first place agreed to do it.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Facial Fitness Pao
The Portuguese football player Cristiano is a famous name and a highly influential man. But he appeared in the commercial for Facial Fitness Pao. But even his name and fame could not boost the sales of the product. The product is made in Japan and is a mouthguard with some propellers which can be used to strengthen the facial muscles.
But one wonders why someone would want to make their facial muscles strong. Yes, it could be beneficial for those with some muscular conditions. But why would they need an ad for it? The doctors would recommend it if it was good.
Bob Dylan and ladies’ inner-wears
Victoria’s Secret is a famous and popular brand for ladies’ inner-wear. But this brand has been at the receiving end for not having inclusivity and extended sizes. But they refuse to mend things on that front. Instead, they called in Bob Dylan to endorse their products. It was rather strange and the endorsement puzzled all.
