Tamar Braxton and her struggles with Body Dysmorphia
Tamar Braxton recalls,
“Can You Believe I Thought I Was Fat?”
These were the words, Tamar, after she found some of her old pictures in her parents’ house. She then told her fans about her past and opened up about her feeling that she was fat during those days.
Braxton discussed her battles with body dystopia and requested her fans to love themselves and their body. She said:
“There is nothing like going to your parents house and finding old 1996 HORRIBLE pictures of yourself!! Can you believe I thought I was FAT??!?”
Tamar shared on her Instagram:
“It’s so funny how you see yourself then, and how it parallels to now.”
The award-winning singer said further:
“I STILL struggle with body dysmorphia to THIS DAY all because a record executive told me I was too fat at 11 to be more of a ‘commercial’ artist,”
She was overwhelmingly affected by the record executive’s remark. Her family too was told by network executives that they were very boring for TV leading to a lot of ensuing drama.
Tamar and her advice to her fans
Tamar was full of useful advice for people who have to deal with such negative people in their lives.
She said:
“People will try to turn you into whatever they want you to be for their benefit. When are you going to be who YOU truly are for your OWN benefit?”
She continued:
“We put ourselves through hell to be however someone else sees’s us…how about if you are going to work at something. WORK ON YOU FOR YOU and have the faith that GOD made you this way on purpose!”
