Tan Ikram is a British legal practitioner and deputy senior district judge. Tan is well recognized for being appointed to the Judicial Appointments Commission for three years, beginning in December 2023.

Moreover, Tan was appointed Deputy District Judge to the Magistrates’ Court in 2003 and as a District Judge in 2009. In 2015, he was designated as an associate judge for the Sovereign Base Areas of Cyprus. In 2017, he was designated as the Magistrates’ Court deputy senior district judge.

On February 13, 2024, Ikram found three protestors guilty but granted them conditional discharges in a case involving images they appeared to be carrying or wearing that glorified Hamas, a political and military movement that rules the Gaza Strip and has been designated as a terrorist organization by the UK. Arguments were made against this choice.
It was found that Ikram had liked and reposted an online statement written by pro-Palestinian attorney Sham Uddin denouncing “Israeli terrorists in the United Kingdom, the United States, and of course Israel”.
Consequently, the Campaign Against Antisemitism announced that they would complain to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office about Ikram’s ruling in this particular case. The Crown Prosecution Service states that it has the right to request a judicial review of the case.
