Tekashi’s past legal and controversial issues
The news of Tekashi’s arrest comes just one month after his girlfriend Yailin La Más Viral was arrested on a felony charge after they got into a physical fight.
Tekashi confessed to the police that his girlfriend hit him and his Bentley with a 2×4.
The rapper also accused her of kicking his car’s sideview mirror and breaking the windshield.
Yailin, for her part, admitted to hitting Tekashi’s car “to cause him financial hardship” after he allegedly took some of her money and passport.
The New York native also shared a video of their fight on Instagram Stories. The footage was enough for police to arrest Yailin for aggravated battery, witness tampering, and felony criminal mischief.
But Tekashi himself paid Yailin’s $9,000 bond and, once the female rapper was out of jail, she claimed that she was the victim.
She wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time,
“What an injustice truly … Everything you see is not how it appears to be,”
She also alleged in a tweet later that the rapper would hit her in the past and then would start recording to get her reaction after that.
If this was not enough, Tekashi was arrested for reportedly getting into an altercation with a music producer who was working with his girlfriend. But the current status of that case is unclear.
Before that, he was in legal trouble in Florida in August for failing to appear at a hearing regarding many traffic citations.
His most high-profile legal case happened in 2019 when he was declared guilty of racketeering and other charges.
