From Soap Star to Fitness Icon: Alan Halsall’s Body Transformation
Alan Halsall has experienced a remarkable transformation in his physique over the past few years.
The 42-year-old actor, known for his role in Coronation Street, has noticeably slimmed down after committing to a healthier lifestyle.
Alan has shared that he adopted a strict diet and rigorous workout routine to achieve his new look.
In an interview with The Sun, Alan mentioned that he goes to the gym at least three times a week. During his workouts, he uses the treadmill, bike, rowing machine, and cross trainer, covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers.
The soap star stated,
“I’ve transformed a little bit myself and people have seen that. I like to come [to the gym). I have a pre-workout meal, I work out, then I have a post-workout meal or a swim and a steam.”
Similarly, Alan often shares glimpses of his fitness journey on Instagram, frequently posting photos of his workouts.
The actor disclosed that he burns thousands of calories each day during his intense gym sessions. In a social media post from 2019, he documented a nearly three-hour workout where he burned 2,144 calories.
The next day, he completed two more workouts in the morning. In the first session, he exercised for about two and a half hours, burning 1,610 calories. He then trained for an additional 49 minutes and burned another 477 calories.
He humorously noted this achievement in post, captioning,
“4321 calories in 24hrs. Room for a beer now.’ The average daily intake for a man is 2,500 calories.”
In addition to workouts, Alan is also an enthusiast of hot yoga. Hot yoga is practiced in a heated room and is believed to help detoxify the body through sweat and aid in weight loss.
He connected with his former girlfriend and co-star Tisha Merry over this practice. Alan previously told OK! Magazine,
“I’d really got into hot yoga and someone mentioned that Tisha was going to the same studio so I thought we could go together.”
Recently, it has been confirmed that Alan will participate in the 2024 season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
He has already arrived in Australia for the show and will likely showcase his fit physique when he showers in the famous lagoon after entering the jungle.
The ups and downs of Alan Halsall: Relationships, Breakups, and Fatherhood
Earlier this year, Alan Halsall ended his relationship with his then-girlfriend and fellow actor Tisha Merry.
The couple began dating in 2019 after Tisha departed from her role as ‘Steph Britton’ on the soap opera Coronation Street.
Their breakup was reportedly due to them drifting apart over time.
Before his relationship with Tisha, Alan was married to Lucy-Jo Hudson, another Corrie co-star who portrayed ‘Kay Harris.’
Their marriage lasted nearly nine years before they separated in May 2018.
Alan and Lucy-Jo first met on the set of the soap in 2002 and began dating two years later, ultimately tying the knot in 2009.
They also share an 11-year-old daughter named Sienna-Rae.
After her split from Alan, Lucy-Jo began dating Lewis Devine, who owns a theatre company.
This new relationship started just two months after her divorce. However, she did not publicly acknowledge her romance with Lewis until October of that year when she shared a heartfelt post on Instagram about him.
They had worked together in the pantomime Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs in 2017.
In 2020, Alan expressed his displeasure towards Lewis after he referred to Sienna-Rae as his ‘own’ daughter. This comment came after the birth of Lewis and Lucy-Jo’s son, Carter.
In his post, Lewis expressed excitement about becoming a father and praised both Lucy-Jo and Sienna. He stated,
“Our Sienna is delighted and is already making the best big sister, just like I knew she would!”
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Alan expressed his displeasure. He wrote,
“You’re welcome to keep the lying cheating one & call her your own! But not my daughter.”
