Todd and Julie Chrisley are Sad after Their Adopted Daughter’s Biological Mom Asked for her Custody!
- Todd and Julie Chrisley are experiencing more and more trouble after their prison sentencing.
- The couple received a blow after their adopted daughter’s mom wanted her daughter’s custody back.
- The family’s attorney also revealed that the biological mother’s attempts are baseless and illegal.
Todd and Julie Chrisley do not want to lose their adopted daughter
Todd and Julie Chrisley are deeply saddened by their adopted daughter’s biological mother’s recent actions.
The reality TV stars who adopted their daughter, Chloe, who is now ten, could possibly lose her to the biological mother, Angela Johnson if things go wrong for them.
After the couple received years of prison sentence, Chloe’s biological mom does not want to leave her young daughter in their care.
The sad couple said in a joint statement:
“Todd and Julie are saddened by the unfortunate and misleading narrative currently being portrayed in the media regarding Chloe,”
Jessica Doyle, the family’s attorney also claimed that Angela’s claims and attempts are “simply not legally correct or even valid.”Doyle was the one who helped the Chrisleys with Chloe’s formal adoption.
The attorney said:
“Angela Johnson’s parental rights were terminated when she voluntarily surrendered her parental rights to Todd and Julie Chrisley on March 24, 2017,”
Doyle added that the biological mom “has had no contact with the minor child since 2015.”
“Todd and Julie Chrisley don’t just have custody of Chloe,”
“They are her legal parents through adoption.”
The couple’s daughter claimed she has Chloe’s custody
Johnson, who has nothing to do with her biological child anymore claimed the family took her daughter away from her life.
She further told a publication earlier this week that she has “not filed any legal papers” yet and she would like to “go back to court to get Chloe back home.”
In a tearful mom, grieving Johnson said:
“I want her home. She deserves to be home,”
“I’m her biological mom. I didn’t walk away from her. I was pushed out of her life.”
Interestingly, Johnson had Chloe with Kyle Chrisley, who is Todd’s son from his first marriage.
Todd, 53, and Julie, 47, shared Chloe’s temporary custody with Johnson in 2014 when Kyle was struggling with addiction and bipolar disorder.
After Johnson’s arrest, the Chrisleys received the child’s full custody three years later.
After the couple received a total of 19 years in prison, their 25-year-old daughter Savannah Chrisley said she and her 16-year-old brother, Grayson, received the custody of Chloe.
The couple received a prison term for bank fraud and tax evasion.
