Tom Holland takes a hiatus from acting
Tom Holland is taking a much-needed break from his successful acting career.
The 27-year-old British actor announced he will be taking a break from his acting and producing career after filming the Apple TV+ limited series The Crowded Room.
In an interview with Extra, Holland said,
“It was a tough time, for sure,”
“We were exploring certain emotions that I have definitely never experienced before. And then on top of that, being a producer, dealing with the day-to-day problems that come with any film set, just added that extra level of pressure.”
Despite having a great time on set and learning a lot, the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor revealed that it broke him in the process.
The British actor added,
“I’m now taking a year off, and that is a result of how difficult this show was,”
Tom plays the character of Danny Sullivan in the crime thriller. It revolves around a young man who gets arrested for shooting at Rockefeller Center in the year 1979.
The much-awaited show also stars Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, Will Chase, and Sasha Lane.

Why did Holland take a social media break last year?
When asked how the actor is spending his present time, he revealed he has been doing a bit of traveling, playing golf, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
He added,
“You know, I’ve been going to the garden center and buying plants and doing my best to keep them alive,”
“I’ve just been trying to be a regular bloke from Kingston and just relax.”
This shocking career update comes just a month after Holland announced that he became sober during his work in The Crowded Room.
In May, he told Entertainment Weekly,
“I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing,”
“But the mental aspect, it really beat me up and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality.”
This is not the first act Tom has done to protect his well-being. Last August, he announced he would be taking a break from social media to focus on mental health.
In an Instagram video message, Holland said,
“I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming,”
“I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online and ultimately it’s very detrimental to my mental state. So, I decided to take a step back and delete the app.”
