Tony Stewart and his career
Racing car driver from the USA, Tony Stewart was born on 20 May 1971 in Rushville, Indiana, the USA. Tony started early and in 1979, he got his first ever competitive go kart that was in Westport, Indiana. And in 1980, he received his first championship. Moreover, he won the World Karting Association championship in 1987. Tony has won titles in racing in Indy, Midget, Sprint and in USAC Silver Crown cars.
Legend Tony has won the NASCAR Cup series championship four times: in 2002 and 2005 as a driver, in 2011 as an owner/driver, and in 2014 as an owner. He co-owns the Stewart-Haas Racing of NASCAR and also Superstar Racing Experience. He has multiple awards on his name. Tony is a member of NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Tony had accidentally caused the death of Kevin Ward Jr. Later, it was revealed that Kevin was high on cannabis during the race. Nonetheless, Kevin’s family pressed criminal charges against Tony. Ultimately , the case settled out-of-court confidentially before the legal proceedings began in 2018.
Is Tony married?
Tony began dating American racer, Leah Pruett who is 17 years younger to him. She is one of the founding drivers of Tony Stewart Racing’s program in the NHRA. The two had met in 2019 through a mutual friend, NHRA icon Don Prudhommer. They went official on their relationship in 2020. The two had quarantined together during the covid-19 pandemic and lockdown. Tony told Associated Press in January 2021:
“My personal life is the best it’s ever been, by far,”
In March 2021, Tony proposed to Leah and she accepted his wedding proposal. Tony tweeted:
“So excited to spend the rest of my life with a truly amazing woman,”
“She’s motivated, hard working, funny as hell, and as dedicated to her sport as anyone I’ve ever known. Love you babe.”
And Leah wrote on her Instagram:
“The undeniable level of love, happiness, and soulfulness we have together is monumental,”
“He might run in circles, but is the straightest shooter and the salt of this earth… looking forward to a lifetime of sunrises and sunsets that the Lord has gifted us together. Love you babe!”
And her engagement ring was a massive emerald cut diamond ring. The two wed on 21 November 2021 in Los Cabos, beach side, Mexico. One of the attendees, Marco Andretti posted a video of the event on his Instagram and captioned it:
“Smoke isn’t the only winner this weekend.”
The couple has no children together yet.
The couple’s past relationships
If we talk about Leah’s personal life, her first marriage was to Todd LeDuc who is an off-road racer and Monster Jam truck driver. The marriage failed. Later, in 2011, she met Gary Pritchett who was a crew member for NHRA Top Fuel drag racer Steve Torrence. The two fell in love and began dating to get married in 2013.
But on 31 July 2019, Leah filed for divorce from Gary. And after that she started a relationship with Tony.
Tony also had previous relationships. He was dating Krista Dwyer from 1997 to 1999. He went on to date Jamie Schaffer for two years from 2002 to 2004. But this relationship also fizzled out. He then began a romantic relationship with Tara Roquemore in 2006. But they split in two years in 2008. After dating Pennelope Jimenez from 2017, Tony proposed to her and she said yes. But the engagement was called off in 2019.
