Travelport study reveals that travelers are still not confident of safety of travel during COVID-19 pandemic! want sureties!
A study done by Travelport reveals what the travelers want before they make up their minds to travel in this coronavirus pandemic. Those who have a reason to travel will do so but the fun travelers are off the list now.
And they will not rejoin until safety is ensured. They want some measures to be put in place before they consider travel again. Travelport has found out that most of these wanderlust travelers want sureties from the airlines before they jump into a plane and head overseas.
So what are these several sureties they demand?
Travelport and its new study
Airlines started operations after the lockdown was eased. But they cannot expect to have a good airplane capacity until they ensure the potential passengers of their safety during the pandemic. Travelport conducted a study and found that people want 10 sureties before they even consider an air journey again.
More about the demands of the travelers
Besides the cleanliness, after the COVID-19 pandemic, potential travelers want access to face masks and also a sanitizer, and soap. These should be available at easy distances so that one can maintain good hygiene levels while traveling. The airline companies should also ensure that there is a social distance of 1-2 m both on the ground and in the air. This should at no place be compromised.
Travelers want contactless services from travel companies. They should impose mandatory face masks wearing for all passengers, crew, pilots, and ground staff.
Travelport and its statement
Greg Webb is the Chief Executive Officer of Travelport. He said of the study:
“Over the last few months, the travel industry has rolled out many initiatives to support a safe, healthy, and responsible return for travel. This study highlights the criticality these measures are now playing in restoring traveler confidence. However, for the majority of travelers to return to the skies, the industry now needs to work together to not only ensure a wide array of safety measures are in place throughout the travel journey but to collectively communicate these changes to travelers using a range of channels and merchandising technologies.”
