Prosecutors say Brian Walshe dismembered his wife Ana Walshe
A prosecutor testified in court on Wednesday that Brian Walshe used his son’s iPad to conduct a number of disturbing and shocking searches, including one that revealed the best ways to dispose of a body. After dismembering his wife, Ana Walshe, with a hacksaw, he then disposed of her remains.
In Quincy District Court, Brian Walshe, 47, entered a not-guilty plea to charges of murder and unlawful transport of remains in the death of Cohasset resident Ana Walshe, 39. He was ordered jailed without bond by a judge.
Ana disappeared earlier this month. A murder warrant has been issued for Brian Walshe in connection with her passing, according to a statement made on Tuesday by Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey.
Just after 8 a.m., Brian Walshe was spotted being led into court under close police protection for his 9 a.m. court appearance. When asked if he understood the charges against him in front of the judge, Walshe responded, “I do.”
He is accused of beating his wife with the purpose to kill her, burying a body without permission, and wilfully removing human remains.
Brian Walshe and his disturbing search history after his wife’s disappearance
Norfolk County Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland revealed the disturbing search history of Brian in court. Apparently, Brian used one of his kid’s iPads to search these things. According to Beland, his search history on January 1 looked like this:
4:55 a.m.: “How long before a body starts to smell?”
4:58 a.m.: “How to stop a body from decomposing”
5:20 a.m.: “How to embalm a body.” As Beland read this search phrase in court, Brian Walshe shook his head.
5:47 a.m.: “10 ways to dispose of a dead body if you really need to”
6:25 a.m.: “How long for someone to be missing to inherit?”
6:34 a.m.: “Can you throw away body parts?”
9:29 a.m.: “What does formaldehyde do?”
9:34 a.m.: “How long does DNA last?”
9:59 a.m.: “Can identification be made on partial remains?”

The disturbing searches continued the following day. His searches on January 2 included the following things:
12:54 p.m.: “Hacksaw, best tool to dismember”

Brian reportedly threatened to kill Ana in 2014
Ana Walshe, a missing mother from Cohasset, painted a picture of a luxurious, content life with her husband Brian Walshe on social media.
However, a police report acquired by Boston 25 Reporter Bob Ward shows that there was serious turmoil before Ana and Brian were engaged.
This public incident report states that Brian Walshe “made a statement over the telephone that he was going to kill her, and her friends,” which Ana Knipp (her maiden name) reported to DC Metro police.
Although Brian Walshe isn’t specifically mentioned in the paper, Ward’s sources claim he is the suspect in this case.
Although Ana never cooperated with DC Metro Police, the matter closed, and the report identifies the potential offense as a felony threat.
Former Boston Police Chief Dan Linskey believes this is now very important. He said:
“It paints the history that we were looking for to see what was going on in that relationship. All relationships have tensions, right? People argue and fight and disagree. But when you’ve gone to authorities because you feel that your physical safety and the physical safety of your friends are in danger to make a formal report, that’s a different standard.”
Ana announced her engagement on social media a little over a year after she informed authorities Brian had threatened to kill her. But they married four months later. However, on May 21, 2018, Ana Walshe shared a selfie on Instagram that revealed her injured eye.
She captioned the picture,
“Mild Concussion, bruised hip, and a cut. #vulnerability.”
