Julian Sands went missing while hiking in California
On January 13, at about 19:30 local time, British actor Julian Sands was reported missing. The actor vanished while out on a hike in the San Gabriel Mountains’ Baldy Bowl region, north of Los Angeles.
The search has been hampered by the weather, but officials assert that there is “no strict timetable” for calling the mission done.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, his automobile was found in a parking lot, maybe where he left it before starting his hike.
Later on Thursday, police provided an update and stated that the icy conditions were still impeding their efforts and that they were waiting to begin a new ground search.
They told the PA news agency that there was “no deadline specified” for calling off the search and rescue effort, but they emphasized that they were still engaged in it.
Public safety officials advise against visiting the region. Experienced hikers are having a difficult time passing through there because of how dangerous it is, according to Campos. Rescue teams want to continue a ground search as soon as the weather improves, he added.
Authorities are also looking for Bob Gregory, a California hiker from Hawthorne who went missing on Monday in the San Gabriel Mountains, according to ABC News. On Thursday, it was announced that search teams had discovered and towed away a snow-covered automobile believed to be Sands’.

An air search is being conducted
Because of the bad road conditions, the ground search for Mr. Sands is still on hold. However, authorities in California have started looking for him again using the air. But
He was last seen a week ago in the San Gabriel Mountains’ Baldy Bowl region, to the north of Los Angeles. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Gloria Huerta told the BBC on Friday that there has been “no fresh information or witness information concerning his location since then.”
The ground search has not yet been able to continue owing to icy conditions and an avalanche threat, but the air search has resumed, according to Ms. Huerta.
Weather conditions on the mountain have hampered efforts to save missing and injured hikers, including Sands, as California has been battered by winter storms. On Saturday evening, due to the hazardous weather, rescue teams searching for Sands on the ground had to be dragged down the mountain.
Gonzalez, the injured hiker, was unable to be taken off the mountain and to a hospital because of the weather, a medic told CBS News, Los Angeles. The news source stated that she left five children behind.
The recent storms in California have claimed the lives of more than 21 people, and several more, including a five-year-old kid who has swept away in floodwaters, are still missing.
