Who is ketamine Queen? Know her role in Matthew Perry’s death!
Friends star, Matthew Perry died due to ketamine overdose on 28 October 2023 in his house in Los Angeles. The LA Police department started an investigation into how Matthew obtained the ketamine that caused his death. Five people have been arrested in this case.
Who is Ketamine Queen?
Canadian-American actor, Matthew Perry died at age 54 on 28 October 2023. He was found unresponsive in the bathtub in his LA home. The post mortem report revealed that the cause of his death was ketamine overdose. He drowned in the tub water after he went unconscious. He also had coronary artery disease and the ketamine caused him to have respiratory depression and cardiac effects.
Five people were arrested in the case: his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, two doctors (Dr Salvador Plasencia and Dr Mark Chave), Jasveen Sangha aka Ketamine Queen and TV director, Erik Fleming.
Ketamine Queen or Jasveen is a American-British drug peddler residing at North Hollywood. Her house has huge supplies of ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine and Xanax. This place is referred to the Sangha stash house in court documents.
Erik had said that Jasveen only deals with clients from the high end and celebs. The supply of ketamine to Matthew was from her stash house. She had exploited Matthew’s drug addiction for her monetary gains. This led to an overdose in him and his subsequent death.
Jasveen has nine charges against her. This includes the crime of distributing ketamine to vulnerable clients leading to death of some of them. She pleaded non-guilty of the charges. Her bail plea has been rejected and she will continue to be in prison until October when the trial of her case would commence.
Jasveen has a jetsetter life and posts on it on her social media regularly. She was part of the Hollywood celebrity circle and used to mix with them socially.
How Matthew obtained the fatal ketamine?
Ketamine is an anesthesia drug that leads to dissociation and hallucinations. The person loses control of self and feels disconnected with the world. Ketamine can also distort the person’s sight and hearing sense. It is available in an injection form.
Only a physician is certified to inject it and the person should be under close monitoring of a medical expert to detect and manage the harmful side effects of the drug.
Dr Salvador learned that Matthew was in need of ketamine for his anxiety. He told Dr Mark to arrange for it. The latter had a ketamine clinic in the past.
Later, Salvador taught Kenneth, Matthew’s live-in assistant on how to inject the drug into Matthew’s body.
Despite knowing that the drug could be deadly, Jasveen still supplied Matthew with it. She was keen for money and did not think about her client’s safety and well being.
If convicted, Jasveen will have to be in prison for at least ten years or even for life.
Jasveen and the 2019 death
There was another death due to drug overdose in 2019. US police authorities have found that Jasveen had a role to play in this death as well.
A man named Cody McLaury had purchased ketamine from Jasveen that year. Jasveen sold it to him though she was well aware of its fatal nature. Cody died of ketamine overdose.
It is reported that Cody’s family later contacted her via text message that read:
“The ketamine you sold my brother killed him. It’s listed as the cause of death.”
Also, a few days after this message, Jasveen had searched on Google search engine the following keywords:
“Can ketamine be listed as a cause of death?”
Jasveen will have to undergo trial for that death case as well, investigators state.
