It was a few weeks ago that American billionaire, Bill Gates, 69 had confessed that his divorce from ex-wife, Melinda Gates was the biggest mistake of his life. And now, Bill has confirmed about his relationship with a new girlfriend. Who is she?

Bill Gates confirms his new relationship

American Microsoft entrepreneur, Bill Gates, 69 had divorced his wife, Melinda Gates in 2021. After this, he was seen with a new lady at several events. Last year, Bill and his new lady love, Paula Hurd, 62 were at the Paris Olympics. They were in good spirits as they enjoyed the game and each other’s company.

Bill has now confirmed that he is indeed dating Paula seriously. He said in a new interview on Today Show:

“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula. So we’re having fun, going to the Olympics and lots of great things.”

A friend of the couple had earlier told DailyMail.com:

“They’ve been together for over a year and she’s always been described as a ‘mystery woman,’ but it’s no mystery to their inner circle that they’re romantically involved.”

The two, it seems, are inseparable.

Who is Paula Hurd?

Paula Hurd is the widow of the former CEO of Oracle, Mark Hurd. Mark expired in 2019 due to cancer. Paula herself is also a former developer. Currently, she does events planning and organizing and is also a philanthropist. The lady has some resemblance to Melinda.

Paula and Bill come from the same Silicon Valley circle and would have crossed paths when Mark was alive. It was in 2022 that the two were spotted together first. In January 2023, Bill was with Paula in Sydney, Australia at the famous Opera House and the Harbor.

They were also at the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani, the son of Indian billionaire, Mukesh Ambani. Paula was with Bill at the billionaire’s summer camp in Sun Valley, Idaho organized by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

Last year, besides Paris Olympics, Paula and Bill were also at the Baylor University basketball game, and at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony in Los Angeles in April 2024.

Bill regrets divorce with Melinda

Though Bill has moved on in life with Paula, he does regret his divorce from Melinda, 60. Less than one month ago, Bill had admitted on it. He told in an interview with The Times of London:

“I’m more cheerful now. “That was the mistake I most regret.”

Last year, Melinda had also resigned from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Bill touched this topic as well and stated that he lost not only a partner but also a meditation buddy, a walking partner, and a member of his joint book club. He continued:

“You would have to put that at the top of the list.
“There are others but none that matter. The divorce thing was miserable for me and Melinda for at least two years.”

Talking about the pain he caused Melinda when he had an extra-marital affair with a Microsoft employee, Bill admitted:

“I certainly made mistakes, and I take responsibility.”

Additionally, Bill’s connections with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender also caused a rift between them. Melinda had not liked Bill interacting with Jeffrey. She had said:

“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified.”

Bill split from Melinda in 2021. This was after 34 years of togetherness and 27 years of married life with her.
