There are innumerable instances where people move on after separation and divorce from their spouse. Many celebrities do it and it has become a usual thing in the world of today. American singer, Kelly Clarkson, 42 divorced her husband, talent agent, Brandon Blackstock, 48 in 2020. But she is not able to move on and date a new man. What is the reason for it?

Kelly Clarkson and her relationships

American singer, Kelly Clarkson, 42 had a romantic relationship with American Idol runner-up, Justin Guarini. She met him on the show in 2002 and dated him after the show during the time they worked together in the film From Justin to Kelly. Later, she had a brief romance with American musician Graham Colton, 43 in 2005.

Subsequently, she dated American musician, Ryan Key, 45 in 2006 for a few months. After her split from Ryan, she started a relationship with her talent manager, Brandon Blackstock. On 20 October 2013, the two walked down the aisle together. Their daughter, River was born in June 2014. Two years later, in April 2016, they welcomed their son, Remington.

Later, in June 2020, Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The court granted them divorce in March 2022. There were rumors that Kelly was romancing country musician Brett Eldredge. However, both denied the rumors calling them ‘crazy’.

Kelly Clarkson is unable to date a new man

After her divorce, Kelly has relocated to New York for her new talk show. She loves New York, a source revealed and added that she is enjoying her stay there. However, she has not met any new man for herself. Further, the source stated:

“She loves being a mom. Her kids have been clear that they don’t want her to date, so she’s not. She feels very satisfied with life as it is. She knows as the kids get older, dating will be easier.”

Moreover, the insider said that Kelly is not missing dating someone at the moment. She is extremely pre-occupied with her career and kids and has no time for anything else in life.

Additionally, Kelly had also said something similar on the radio show of KOST 103.5. She said:

“They [her children] constantly bring it up. “Please, we don’t want you with anybody else”. They’re young, it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”

Will Kelly date someone else in the future?

Currently, Kelly is happy with the wishes of her young children. In March 2023, she was on the podcast Angie Martinez IRL on which she said that she is happy in her singlehood:

“I don’t want another dude in my house with my children,”
“I really do, truly love being single. I like my bed. I like my routine.”

But she would love to fall in love again, she added.

This year, on KOST 103.5 radio, she also said that she might date someone in the future. She revealed that she told her kids about it:

“I have expressed like, “Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs loving too!””

Kelly is very close to her two children and had taken them along with for her Las Vegas residency this year. The proud mother said this of her kids at that time:

“I was like, “I feel like how you’re looking at me is how you watch Spider-Man!” It caught me completely off guard, and it was the most magical moment because they were so happy and at ease. They were just in awe.”
