California-born Zack de la Rocha was born as Zacharias Manuel de la Rocha and is the vocalist and the lyricist of the famous rap-metal band, “Rage Against the Machine”.

He is also the primary songwriter in the band. Additionally, he is also a musician and a poet. Multi-talented Jack is a prominent figure among rap and alternative metal music fans.

He is also an activist. He works on helping people deprived of Human Rights. Presently, he is focusing on his solo music career.

Jack was born on January 12, 1970, in Long Beach, California. He was born to his parents, Robert “Beto” de la Rocha and Olivia Lorryne Carter. His father is of Mexican-American descent. And his mother is of German and Irish origin.

His father, Beto is a painter and a muralist. He had a tough childhood as his parents divorced when he was six.

As a teenager, he was a vegetarian. Although he was born in Long Beach, he moved to Irvine with his mom after his parent’s divorce.
