Alex Galchenyuk also better known as Alexei Alexandrovich Galchenyuk is an American-Belarusian professional ice hockey center. He is currently playing for SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Alex was selected third overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has also played in the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins.

He had a successful two seasons with the Sting, scoring 74 goals and adding 83 assists in 126 games. In 2012, he was named to the OHL Second All-Star Team.

On 25th August 2023, Galchenyuk signed a one-year contract with SKA Saint Petersburg of the KHL, and he scored 17 goals and added 22 assists in 56 games during the 2020-21 season. He has represented Belarus at the international level.

After the arrest, a video came out showing Galchenyuk using bad words and making threats to the officer. He was charged with different things like hitting property, disorderly behavior, not following orders, resisting arrest, and making threats. Later, he admitted to one threat charge. He spent two days in jail, did a program for alcohol treatment, and paid $563 to avoid more jail.
