Austin Burke has expanded his family with his wife Lexy Burke. The beautiful couple, who married in December 2019, are ready to begin their parenthood journey.

A representative for the couple was first to confirm the happy news with PEOPLE that Austin and Lexy have their first baby on the way.

Alike, the country singer, 29, opened up about the pregnancy with the outlet on Sunday, April 16, on the occasion of his wife’s 29th birthday. Austin told PEOPLE,

“I can’t explain my happiness. Knowing that Lexy is carrying our baby has given me a new appreciation for her and moms everywhere. She’s going to be the best mom, and I’m ready to teach this kid the very little I know.”

Lexy then went on to acknowledge that they were both “in such shock” when they learned their exciting baby news. She continued,

“We are BEYOND excited and can’t wait for the fall! I’m currently in the phase of trying to read every parenting/pregnancy blog I can, and listen to every motherhood-releated podcast!”

The big announcement comes just a day after Austin released his modern version of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy“.

How long have Austin Burke and Lexy Burke been together?

Austin Burke and Lexy Burke have been married for more than three years. The soon-to-be parents tied the knot in December 2019 after dating for nearly eight years.

The singer took to Instagram to share the exciting news the day after his wedding with photos from their special day. He also wrote a length of heartwarming message underneath the post that reads,

“Today I get to marry y best friend in front of the people we both love most in life. Today marks not just a promise to you, but a promise to your parents, my parents, all of our family and friends, but most importantly it marks a promise to God,”

The soon-to-be father added,

“A promise that I will love you today, I will love you tomorrow And I will love you till my last breath on this earth. Today, December 31, 2019 I get to stand in front of you and vow my life to you as your husband.”

In July 2022, Austin released a song, “Take My Life” dedicated to his wife Lexy. The music video also includes real footage from their wedding. At the time, he told PEOPLE,
