Bebe Rexha protects her eyes after the phone incident

Bebe Rexha did her best to protect her eyes at her latest Best F*n Night Of My Life Tour stop in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The 33-year-old songstress dressed up in a sparkling blue top, satin pants, and matching gloves and wore a pair of safety goggles as she went to the stage to perform her song I’m Good (Blue) at The Wiltern.

The performance came just weeks after a concertgoer threw a phone in her face while she was performing in New York City. The wound was so intense that she ended up getting stitches and a black eye.

On a recent Instagram post of her performance, one fan wrote in the comments,

“Wearing them safety glasses cause she ain’t playing no more!”

Another wrote,

“WHAT A QUEEN! still ended tour off strong. that’s a legend,”

The fan who assaulted the singer Nicolas Malvagna of Manalapan, NJ, was charged with assault over the incident. The incident took place at the Rooftop at Pier 17 on June 18.

The footage which went viral on Instagram showed the phone struck Rexha directly on her face. The I’m a Mess songstress collapsed to her knees in pain as her crew members rushed to help her.

After the attack, Rexha was rushed to a local hospital where she was treated with multiple stitches. She later shared a snap of herself bandaged up with the fresh shiner on full display and joked.

Why did the fan attack Rexha?

The fan who hurled his phone at the pop star revealed that he was just following a TikTok trend.

According to Manhattan prosecutor Stephan Millan, Nicolas said,

“It’s a TikTok trend where you throw your phone onto the stage, and a celebrity passes it and takes a selfie,’”

‘I thought she was looking in my direction. I was about two rows back, but instead of my phone landing right next to her, my phone hit her in the face,’”

But criminal complaint showed that Malvagna said,

“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”

The songstress who was born Bleta Rexha in Brooklyn to Albanian immigrant parents shared her stitched eyes, writing, “Im [sic] good,” giving a thumbs-up sign.
