The couple welcomed their baby on Wednesday and shared the good news on social media.
Rossum and Esmail are already parents to a baby girl who was born in May 2021.

Congratulations to Emmy Rossum and her husband Sam Esmail who recently welcomed their second child, a baby boy.

The Shameless alum shared the good news via Instagram on Thursday, writing,

“04.05.23,”
“On a foggy Wednesday morning, our son was born.”

The actress also shared her son’s little footprints and revealed that he weighed in at 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 19.5 inches tall when he was born at 10:40 a.m.

The Angelyne star who kept her pregnancy a secret also shared a rare photo of her baby close to her neck. She then treated fans with a mirror selfie of her showing off her baby bump.

Fans took to social media to wish the couple their best wishes.

One fan wrote,

The couple became parents for the first time when Rossum, 36, gave birth to a baby girl. They have not yet revealed the name of their daughter in public.

Emmy kept her first pregnancy also a secret like hers second one. She only posted a throwback maternity shoot photo with her Instagram followers when she revealed that she welcomed her first child.

At the time, Rossum shared a baby bump snap with a caption,

Rossum keeps her daughter away from her social media

The actress also patiently waited until May of the following year to describe her birth experience in detail. She revealed that she almost welcomed her newborn in an Uber.

She appeared on Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest’s show where she said,

“I ended up getting a lovely and very conscientious Uber driver, which is not what you want when you’re in labor,”
“I want[ed] to go [fast],”
“I was basically 10 minutes away from having a child. It had progressed very quickly.”

While Emmy pressured the driver to rush to the hospital, he was fully focused on getting the then-pregnant actress to her destination safely.

Ever since becoming a mom, Rossum has always protected her child from social media and keeps her face off any platform.

Even while sharing some sweet moments of her toddler, the doting mom has only shown the back of her while documenting her adorable acts like blowing bubbles or watching waves.
