- Guardian of the Galaxy is one of the favorite action movies and now it has its vol.2 coming soon and we can’t wait for it.
- So the question of what “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” can do for an encore isn’t really, “Can it top the first film?” It’s more like, “Can it be as good?”
Guardian of the Galaxy Vol.2
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the favorites characters including Drax, Groot, Yondu, Star-Lord, Rocket, Nebula, and Gamora are there.
Also, there are other characters as well. Who’s that alien lady with the antennae? And she is none other than a brand-new character named Mantis.
The executive producer Jonathan Schwartz says,
“She has never really experienced social interaction. Everything she learns about dealing with people, she learns from the Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a very weird group to learn your social intricacies from.”
Mantis may not be the only new character, according to Schwartz. He says that the audiences will be treated to a very different Groot from the stoic man-tree of the original 2014 film,
“He doesn’t have the wisdom and experience of that Groot. He’s a younger Groot and a more rambunctious Groot. The question is, is he the same Groot, just smaller? Or is he a different Groot that’s sprung up from the seed of the first Groot?”
The first volume was all about how the Guardians met and teamed up. Also, the interesting and part of the beauty of it was that you could feel just how much Chris Pratt’s trouble-shooting, ’70s-dancing thief Peter, Zoe Saldana’s green-faced alien princess Gamora, Dave Bautista’s splendidly dour tell-it-like-it-is tattoo-carved muscleman Drax, and Bradley Cooper’s Brooklynese raccoon scavenger Rocket really disliked each other.
All of which made “Guardians” feel like something more than an origin story. “Vol. 2,” on the other hand, it is an original story. The Guardians are now a seasoned team and the movie is all about how Peter got to be who he is.
The master of sci-fi spectacle must, of course, be served, and the climax of “Vol. 2” is exorbitant, rousing, touching, and just obligatory enough to be too much of a good thing.
