Jason Bell is an American former professional football player, TV commentator, and businessman. He is presently working as an NFL pundit for the BBC’s coverage of the league on their preview and highlights show alongside Osi Umenyiora.

During high school, Jason Bell began playing football where he played quarterback, wide receiver, and cornerback. He played on special teams for the Bruins at the University. His team won the 1998 Pacific-10 Conference championship while making 38 tackles and leading the team in passes defended (14).

In the 2001 NFL Draft, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys. He was a gunner in his team and led the team with 21 tackles which was waived on September 1, 2002. The following day, he joined Houston Texans and became a part of the inaugural season of the franchise. That year, he led the team with 14 special teams tackles, even though he missed the first 3 games with a fractured right wrist. In 2003, he was second on the team with 15 special teams tackles.

After three years of playing experience with the Texans, he was signed as an unregistered free agent with the New York Giants on March 13, 2006. Jason was unable to refrain from injuries as he fractured his right forearm though he played four games. Ultimately, he takes retired from football in 2008, after having back surgery.

After retirement, he joined the Masters Private Client Grop.

Jason Bell was honored with the Ed Block Courage Award while playing for the Houston Texans in 2002. He was nominated as “Pundit of the Year” by the sports journalist association.
