In 2019, Jimmie Fails worked in an American drama film The Last Black Man in San Francisco which was directed and produced by Joe Talbot. Other stars like Jonathan Majors, Tichina Arnold, and Rob Morgan are also featured in the film. In the same year, he along with Talbot founded a production company called Longshot Features.

In 202o, he played the role of Max in drama film Pieces of a Woman which was directed by Kornél Mundruczó.
