Johnny Ruffo is no longer alive among us! Home and Away star took his last breath on Friday morning, November 10, at a Sydney hospital.
He dies from brain cancer while surrounded by his family and partner Tahnee Sims.
His death was announced on his respective Instagram account with a heartfelt message of remembrance for the beloved actor.
“It is with a heavy heart that today we had to farewell our beloved Johnny, Surrounded by his partner Tahnee and family, Johnny went peacefully with the support of some incredible Nurses & Doctors. He was a very talented, charming and sometimes cheeky boy. Johnny was very determined and had a strong will.”
“He battled all the way to the end and fought as hard as he could. Such a beautiful soul with so much more to give. We all love you Johnny and will remember you for all the joy you brought to our lives. Rest easy.”
Johnny was an Australian actor who rose to prominence for his appearance on his country’s edition of The X Fator and winning the title of season 12 of Dancing with the Stars.

He starred in several soap operas including Home and Away playing Chris Harrington, House of Bond, and Neighbours.
As soon as his death was announced many were quick to mourn the loss of the actor.
Guy Sebastian paid tribute to Ruffo as “the funniest bloke and such a kind soul … you lit up my life every time I saw you and I only wish I saw you more.”
Angus Ross also wrote a lengthy statement with a heartwarming statement that reads,
“Talented and charismatic performer [who] was born to entertain and brought joy to the lives of so many on and off the screen. His infectious energy and big heart will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. We pass on our heartfelt condolences to Johnny’s partner, family and friends.”
When was Johnny Ruffo diagnosed with brain cancer?
In August 2017, Johnny revealed he had been diagnosed with brain cancer. Two years later, he underwent surgery to remove a tumor and revealed he was in remission.
However, his brain cancer returned shortly after. In 2020, he shared an Instagram post revealing his cancer had returned.
“After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned, though I will dig deep and beat this shit disease again.”
Similarly, he released another statement in the same year revealing his cancer had become terminal. Last year, he told Australia’s Channel,
“Looking up my diagnosis and my tumor and… the average life expectancy was three years. For me it’s now been five years, so I’m already winning,”
