Then, in 2003, he was seen in the telenovela Clase 406 playing Gilberto Bernal, and Clap, el lugar de tus sueños as Cesar.  Jose competed in and placed third in the 2003 Miss World pageant, held in London, England, after winning the national male pageant El Modelo Mexico.

He has a recurring role in telenovela Un gancho al corazón in 2009-2009 as Fausto Buenrostro. In 2013, he was cast in a main role in the telenovela “Dama y Obrero” as Pedro Perez.

Jose had a cameo role in the 2011 telenovela Flor Salvaje as Pablo Aguilar. In an American telenovela, Señora Acero(2014-2016, 2018), Luis was seen in the main role in seasons 1 and 2 and had a guest role in season 4.
