RIP Josh Seiter, the former Bachelorette contestant is no longer alive among us. His death is confirmed by his family member in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
“It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Joshua’s unexpected passing, As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world.”
The statement continued by saying that ‘his fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in their darkest moments feel just a little less alone.’ They added,
“Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace.”
Although the family member hasn’t revealed the cause of his death they provided a phone number for people to call who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

Josh Seiter shared his struggles with mental health
Josh Seiter had been open up about his mental health status a few days ago, prior to his death. On Thursday, August 24, he shared a selfie of himself smiling, which became his final post, alongside a caption,
“Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
In June, he posted his smiling photo with a message,
“Remember to smile even when it’s the last thing on earth you feel like doing it. It can change your whole day.”
Before that post, he shared about his sobriety milestone, writing beside a selfie,
“Here’s to 3 years and 8 months of sobriety,”
Similarly, Seiter shared on his Instagram feed that he had previously attempted suicide. He also struggled with general anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and more.
The reality TV star got candid about the struggles he overcame in his early 20s in a 2022 Instagram post. He wrote at that time,
“When I was 21 I was completely catatonic and committed to a psychiatric ward. When I was 22 I tried taking my own life. At 23 I underwent electroshock therapy,”
“Later that year I harnessed every bit of strength I had and applied to law school. At 25 I graduated law school top of my class. By 30 I became one of the most followers mental health advocates online and one of the top creators on OF. At almost 36, life is pretty dang near perfect. Never, ever give up. Your story isn’t written yet. Every chapter leads to a more perfect ending. I promise.”
Josh Seiter was bisexual
In June 2023, Josh Seiter came out as bisexual. He opened up about his sexuality in an interview with Instinct Magazine explaining the difficulties he faced when coming out.
He came from a conservative Christian household. Seiter told the publication,
“I always knew as an early teen I was different sexually, I just don’t think I had the vocabulary to articulate what that difference was. I don’t think the vocabulary ITSELF even existed,”
