Kane Brown and Katelyn Jae Brown started dating in 2016

Katelyn Jae Brown and Kane Brown had planned to meet each other in 2015. Kane, who was trying to make a name for himself at the time, was supposed to feature in her music video, but he had a show the same day as the shoot.

In a 2020 interview with Radio.com, he recalled the incident:

“We met down in Florida at my very first show ever, I believe it was in 2015. The day before that show, I was supposed to be in her music video because she was an artist as well, and it couldn’t happen cause my show was the same day as the music video.”

However, luck favored them in 2016 when they both happened to be at the Dallas Bull bar in Tampa, Florida. Brown was performing there, and Katelyn, who was residing in Orlando, attended the show, and that’s how the couple finally met.

He said in the same interview:

“So a year goes by and the same guy we were working with brings her to a show, she didn’t want to come and he forced her, basically. We met, we didn’t talk at all — I maybe said hey to her — but I thought she was adorable and I kept looking at her all night. So I asked her to come to Nashville, like, the next day, I flew her down and we just hit it off and she never left!”

The couple got engaged in April 2017 and got married in October 2018

After dating for some time, Kane already had plans to marry her and in April 2017, he proposed in a somewhat unconventional way as he revealed in a December 2017 interview with PEOPLE.

The couple was watching The Amityville Horror when Kane got to one knee. He did admit that it was a “weird proposal” but he “just couldn’t wait” to go according to his original plan which included “rose petals and everything like that”.

They exchanged wedding vows in Franklin, Tennessee, on October 12, 2018, in front of 200 guests.

They have two daughters from their marriage

Katelyn Jae Brown and Kane Brown share two daughters together: Kingsley and Kodi.

In April 2019, they announced together via Instagram that they were expecting their first child after being married for six months. Their daughter Kingsley was born on October 29, 2019. The couple shared matching Instagram posts of themselves holding their new baby.

The birth of their second child, daughter Kodi, came as a surprise to fans as the couple was successful in keeping the pregnancy private. They shared the news after her birth on December 31, 2021.

Since then, both of them have shared several photos of their children on social media.

Katelyn Jae Brown is a musician herself. She previously attended West Chester University after being waitlisted at Berklee College of Music.

She temporarily paused her music career to tour with Kane but later enrolled in Berklee’s Online Music Business undergraduate program and graduated in 2019.

While she primarily focuses on the business aspect, she recently returned to performing with a duet with her husband on the song ‘Thank God,’ which reached No. 1 on the US Country Airplay chart and No. 2 on the US Hot Country chart.

In addition, the couple also launched their wine brand called Allen Rose, named after their daughters, which features a rose wine and pinot wine.
