Kyle Jacobs died of suicide at the age of 49
Kyle Jacobs, the husband of singer Kellie Pickler, has passed away at the age of 49, as confirmed by the Nashville police.
On Friday, authorities were called to the couple’s home on Sneed Road in Nashville, where they found Jacobs had apparently died by suicide.
According to a statement from the police, Pickler woke up and couldn’t find her husband. She and a personal assistant were unable to enter the upstairs bedroom/office, prompting the assistant to call 911 at 1:21 pm local time on 17th February 2023.

A day before his death, Kyle Jacobs celebrated a career milestone and seemed very happy
Kyle Jacobs celebrated a major career milestone on Instagram a day before his apparent suicide.
The day before his death, he shared a post on Instagram regarding the success of Lee Brice’s fifth studio album Hey World.
He captioned it:
“Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together. Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!”
In November 2021, Curb Records made an announcement that Hey World had achieved gold certification, and the hit song “One of Them Girls” had reached double platinum status, whereas “Memory I Don’t Mess With” had become a gold single.
Additionally, the song “Hard to Love,” which was included in Brice’s second album, had achieved 4X platinum status by that time.
Kyle and Kellie’s Relationship
Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs met in the mid-2000s through a mutual friend. While playing Us Weekly’s “Newlywed Game” in December 2015 in a bar. The couple hit it off right then and started dating.
They weren’t in a rush to get married right away. In 2009, during the radio show, GAC Nights: Live From Nashville, she revealed:
“I’m not ready — I’m 22, I just started out — I’m not ready to put my husband first. [I’ll wait until] I’m to a point into my career where I can say, ‘This can come in second and I’m ready to have a family.’”
They were crazy about each other already back then and the singer “couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.”
In June 2010, it was confirmed that after more than two years of dating, Kyle got down on one knee.
The next year, on January 1, 2011, the couple exchanged wedding vows in Antigua. They did not have any children from their marriage but had two dogs together.
More than a decade after their marriage, Jacobs died by apparent suicide in February 2023.

Kyle Jacobs was a well-known musician who excelled as a country music songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and pianist. He was affiliated with Curb Music as a staff writer from 2003 until his untimely death in 2023.
Jacobs composed music on both the piano and guitar and had several notable accomplishments to his name. For example, he co-wrote Garth Brooks’ hit song “More Than a Memory,” which made history by debuting at number one on Billboard’s Country Singles chart.
Additionally, he co-wrote “8th World Wonder,” which was a top 10 hit for Kimberley Locke. Jacobs’ music was also recorded by other well-known artists such as Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Craig Morgan, Tim McGraw, Clay Walker, Kelly Clarkson, Scotty McCreery, and many more.
He collaborated with various esteemed writers and musicians, including Darius Rucker, Rachel Thibodeau, and Wynonna. Finally, Jacobs appeared in the CMT reality series I Love Kellie Pickler alongside his wife, Kellie Pickler.
