Kesha struggled with her egg-freezing process

Singer Kesha spent nine days in hospital after suffering life-threatening complications due to freezing her eggs earlier this year.

In her Self cover story, the TikTok hitmaker said,

“I almost died in January,”

Although it took her some months to get over it, the 36-year-old is “finally feeling recovered.”

Despite remaining vague about her horrifying experience, she told the magazine that she “developed an uncommon yet serious complication from the fertility procedure.”

Fans first noticed the musician’s health scare when she was too weak to walk after her performance in the Bahamas.

After that, the songstress spent nine days in a Miami hospital but does “stand by … taking [her] reproductive health into [her] own hands” and “honoring [her] body.”

The Your Love is My Drug singer added,

“Everyone probably has some semblance of feeling like you share what you’re going through, and, at the same time, it’s almost inviting people to have an opinion about it. I don’t have that perfectly mapped out.”

Kesha’s confession about her broken engagement

The shocking revelation comes just a couple of months after Kesha told Rolling Stone that she was secretly engaged at one point but ended up calling it quits.

While she opened up about her current partner with Self, she did not reveal his name.

She recalled,

“Sometimes, he has to have a face cream intervention and take them away from me,”
“The other weekend, I thought it would be a good idea — this was not a good idea — to cover my body in castor oil and do a mask.”

Previously the Grammy nominee was linked to writer Brad Ashenfelter and then drummer Alex Carapetis.

In a since-deleted June 2022 post, she told her fans that she doesn’t call herself gay or straight but is open to it all.

She told the publication,

“One of the biggest issues in my life was growing up knowing that I wasn’t a completely straight person and going to church after church trying to find my community. … [I found] my own version of God in the past three years.”
