British and music loyalty came face to face at the state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

On Tuesday evening, King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a lavish dinner at the monarch’s residence to honor South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee’s state visit to the United Kingdom.

Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose from the famous K-Pop group were among the 170 guests who attended the gala. On top of that, the group even received a shoutout from the King, 76, during his speech.

Charles started his address with a warm welcome in Korean, which was a big hit among the guests. He even praised the political relationship South Korea and Great Britain share. The monarch commended South Korea’s strides in sustainability — a longtime cause close to heart for the sovereign.

He did not forget to mention the girl band’s influence.

“It is especially inspiring to see Korea’s younger generation embrace the cause,”

“I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as BLACKPINK, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as Ambassadors for the U.K.’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.”

The four ladies shared an adorable glance during the King’s shout-out.

The father of two continued,

“I can only admire how they can prioritize these vital issues, as well as being global superstars,”

“Sadly, when I was in Seoul all those years ago, I am not sure I developed much of what might be called the Gangnam Style!”
