Lionel Richie Praised King Charles III for His Amazing Sense of Humor After the Coronation Concert!

Lionel Richie has all good things to say about King Charles III
Thanks to Lionel Richie that the world now knows King Charles III is a good comedian.
In an interview with Extra, the singer revealed that the new monarch has an “amazing sense of humor.”
The 73-year-old revealed,
“I’ve known the King quite a long time. He does have this amazing sense of humor that no one knows about. He’s a secret comedian,”
He also added that Charles joked about appearing on American Idol with his wife Camilla. The Grammy winner said,
“For him to actually take the step and go out of the comfort zone — which was actually his comfort zone — he was hamming it up,”
Lionel, who has known the royal for years, attended the crowing ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6. He even headlined the coronation concert the f following day in Windsor.
He said,
“The highlight for me was that I actually walked up to the King the day after the coronation and said, ‘Would you like to be on American Idol and he said, ‘Yeah.'”
Richie recalled,
“And the second thing that was the highlight was he said, ‘Alright if I bring the Queen?’ ‘Uh, yeah,'”

Richie connected to Charles through charity
The All Night Long singer said that Charles, 74, and Camilla, 75 are an amazing couple.
Richie who became the First Global Ambassador and First Chairman of the Global Ambassador Group for the Prince’s Trust in 2019 said, ”On top of that, they are putting so much good out in the world with the Prince’s Trust.”
The royal couple also made a surprise appearance on the May 7 episode of the show after Katy and Richie performed at the coronation concert.
In April, Richie addressed what it meant to be invited by the royals. He said at the time,
“I mean, you don’t get in the business and say, ‘You know what? I’ll be at the King’s coronation.’ You know, that just never comes up,”
”It’s] A, a surprise. B, what an honor. And C, the fact of all the names that are out there that he could have had for this, he called my name.”
At the historical concert, Richie gave a wonderful performance by singing Easy and his dance party hit All Night Long. Perry, for her part, sang her hit numbers Roar and Firework in honor of the newly crowned king.
More than 20,000 public members across the county and members of the royal family attended the iconic event.
