Anya Taylor Joy is off the market! The Queen’s Gambit actress, 27, recently got married to her boyfriend Malcolm McRae.
The wedding ceremony took place at the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice, Italy. They took a milestone step in their relationship after two years of dating.
The two began dating in around 2021, however, they didn’t go public with their relationship until next year. In October 2021, Malcolm went Instagram official with their relationship sharing a photo of them holding hands together.
Similarly, they made their red carpet debut in March 2022 at the CAA pre-Oscar party in West Hollywood, California.

Malcolm McRae and Anya Taylor-Joy share the same birth date
Anya is two years younger than Malcolm McRae. McRae was born on the 16th of April 1994 while Taylor-Joy entered the world exactly two years later.
As of 20233, he is 28 years old. In 2022, the actress celebrated their joint birthday wishing on Instagram with a sweet post sharing pictures of them while captioning,
“16.04.94, 16.04.96. Happy birthday to us baby. Thank you all for your love,”
He is a musician by profession
Malcolm is a member of a two-person rock band called More* alongside Kane Ritchotte, a former member of Portugal The Man.
The duo released their first EP, 1/2, in July 2020, followed by their second EP, 2/2, in September 2021.
McRae discussed their band’s formation with RAIN Magazine and claimed that their debut EP took three years to complete. He told,
“Kane and I were doing solo projects individually and had a few songs we had written and recorded separately. We met up and decided it was fun to write together and bring our songs together, So we finished ten songs over about three years.”
Besides, he sings, plays the piano, and plays the guitar with ease.
He is also an actor who starred in a 2008 short film, Brotherly, and in 2020’s How’dy where he portrayed the role of Gene Grady.

In March 2021, Malcolm shared a clip of him singing a song that he wrote for his now-wife, two days after their first met at the Queen’s Gambit premiere.

The musician and Anya shared a pet together. In May 2022, the newlywed couple adopted a cat named Kitsune.
On Instagram, Taylor Joy posted a video of McRae dancing with their new cat while captioning,
“We’re in love”
Similarly, McRae referred to himself as a “cat daddy” in a July 2022 Instagram post sharing several photos of himself posing with Kitsune.
