Laney went into labor at their Nashville home on June 6, 2018, and was transported to a neighboring hospital since the baby’s heartbeat was diminishing.
After they arrived at the hospital, the doctor quickly ordered an emergency C-section. Laney underwent life-threatening surgery for two hours.
Walker was terrified, according to Laney, because the surgery took so long. Laney’s uterus ruptured during surgery, depriving the child of blood supply and eventually killing her from suffocation.
Laney survived the incident and subsequently recovered from the physical trauma. However, it took a long time for her to heal from the emotional trauma of losing a child.

He added,
“Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve.”

Walker said,
“Laney and I have cried a lot,” “But one thing that makes me the happiest is how much love there has been around us. We’ve had the most remarkable questions answered and advice given from people around our neighborhood and in meet-and-greet lines. People walk up to me and tell me their life, and it’s like, geez, thank you for sharing. I don’t even know these people.”
