He wrote:

“Just had 2 typically wonderful @NHSEnglandLDN midwives visit my pregnant wife & I for a home birth assessment. Love to all marching for the NHS today. See my sad love letter to the NHS below.”

He also thanked the NHS staff for helping him and his wife overcome the grief over the loss of their son, Henry Delaney a few months back.

Rob, 41 is a vocal advocate for the NHS. He also posted on his Twitter a video that he had filmed for the Democratic Socialists for Medicare – an organization campaigning for a government-funded healthcare program in the US.

Rob’s children were born in the USA as well as in the UK and he is well aware of the problems which could arise when any medical assistance is required for the kids. He further said that he has faced these problems with his kid Henry whom he lost to cancer just 5 months ago.

Rob urged all Americans to get involved with the campaign and supported public funding of the US healthcare system. He feels that the current US healthcare system is bananas.

Rob and his son Henry

Rob lost his 2-year-old son Henry this January due to cancer. He said:

“Our son Henry passed away in January of this year from cancer and he was a beautiful little boy from the moment he was born until the moment he died.

“And he benefited so much from the healthcare system here and so did we as his parents because while we endured stress that was truly unbelievable.

“We didn’t endure the financial stress of wondering are we going to be able to pay for this, are we going to have to move during his treatment because we have to move into a smaller house or move in with relatives… so that financial stress we didn’t have to endure here and what a gift.”

On this Father’s Day, Rob did not forget to post a tribute to his lost son. He uploaded the child’s picture with himself and wrote:

“This is the first Father’s Day since my beautiful Henry died. Love today to all dads & moms who’ve lost a child.”

Rob had broken the tragic news of his son’s death in February on his social media. He had written on his Facebook:

“I have very sad news. My two and a half year old son Henry has passed away.

“Henry had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016, shortly after his first birthday, following persistent vomiting and weight loss.

“He had surgery to remove the tumour and further treatment through the early part of 2017. Then the cancer returned last autumn and he died in January.

“My wife and Henry’s older brothers and I are devastated of course. Henry was a joy.”

His son was quoted as being ‘smart, funny, and mischievous’. Similarly, he had learned sign language and used to move around his house on his bottom since he was unable to walk due to the deficits caused by the brain tumor.

Rob and his married life

Rob was married to Leah in 2004 and the couple has two living children now. The third child Henry lost in January 2018. The coming child would be their fourth child together.
