Shannen Doherty accuses her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko of causing delays in divorce proceedings!

Shannen Doherty accuses her ex-husband of deliberate delay

The 90210 alum, Shannen Doherty is ill. She has stage 4 breast cancer. And there is also an ongoing divorce in court with her estranged husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko. But the divorce proceedings are moving very slowly. This has upset Shannen.

Shannen has filed new legal papers in Los Angeles in which she has directly accused her ex-beau of causing the delay to avoid paying her spousal support. She writes:

“It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,”

Shannen has not worked for the past one year due to her health issues. At the same time, her medical expenditure has risen considerably. She has no medical insurance or any other financial aid to help her. On the other hand, Kurt continues to lead a luxurious life. Hence, Shannen continued in the new filing:

“Our assets are neither difficult to characterize nor divide,”
“Our divorce should not be complicated. It is abundantly clear to me that Kurt is intentionally delaying settlement in hopes that I will not survive the divorce proceedings.”

Shannen’s demands for spousal support

The reality TV star has also mentioned in this new court filing about how much she demands as spousal support. She wants USD 15343 per month in spousal support. She has explained:

“Kurt’s average annual earnings for the last three years of marriage was $672,916,”
“My average annual earnings for the last three years of marriage was $259,708.”

Further, her court documents read:

“Although Kurt’s income is substantially more than mine, he has not made any temporary spousal support payments and has made no contributions to my attorneys’ or accounting fees and costs since the time our divorce action was filed.”

Shannen has said that Kurt says that he has insufficient funds to support her. But he is using their airplane and spending exorbitant money on medical spas, jewelry, Gucci and also on flights for his agent whom he is romancing now.

The relationship of the couple

Shannen and Kurt started dating in 2009 and after two years of togetherness, the two exchanged wedding vows in 2011. All seemed to be okay until last year in January when Shannen learned that Kurt had an extramarital affair and had cheated her. She talked about it on her podcast in December 2023:

“I went into that surgery (for brain tumor) early in the morning and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,”
“To not go in that surgery, even though, being very clear, he wanted to go, I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed.”

Further, Shannen revealed:

“At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years.”
