Times change and so do relationships. The South Korean actress, Claudia Kim has announced her divorce from her husband of five years, Matthew Shampine on 23 September 2024.

South Korean beauty, Claudia Kim, 39 is no more married. On 23 September 2024, she announced that she is divorcing her husband of five years, Mr. Matthew Shampine.
The management agency of Claudia, YG Entertainment confirmed on this split. Further , they added that the divorce was an amicable one. Moreover, they stated:
“Although the two have chosen to go their separate ways, they will continue to support each other. Since this decision was made after long contemplation and thorough conversation, we kindly ask you to refrain from making any malicious comments or speculation.”
The relationship timeline of the couple
Claudia whose real name is Kim Soo-hyun started a relationship with Korean-American entrepreneur, Matthew Shampine. Later, in August 2019, the two went official about their relationship.
On 14 December 2019, the couple exchanged wedding vows at Hotel Shilla in Seoul, South Korea. Her agency announced the news via a lengthy statement:
“Hello. This is actress Soo Hyun’s agency Culture Depot.
Actress Soo Hyun got married to Cha Min Geun on December 14 at 6 p.m. at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul in the neighborhood of Jangchung.
The two exchanged wedding vows surrounded by warm blessings from their family, friends, and acquaintances.
Bride Soo Hyun and groom Cha Min Geun promised to live with love and trust as their foundation for the rest of their lives in front of guests in attendance.
We ask for your understanding for making the ceremony into a private event out of consideration for the two families and request of the two people.
We thank everyone who has always supported Soo Hyun, and ask for lots of support as she plans to continue promoting as an actress after her marriage.

Their daughter arrived on 1 October 2020 in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
This June, during the summer vacation, Claudia was on a holiday in Singapore. She shared several photos of this trip on her social media. Her daughter was with her but her husband was not spotted in the photos she uploaded.
This raised suspicions and now the confirmation of a split arrives.

Claudia was born on 25 January 1985 in South Korea. For six years of her childhood, she was in the USA and hence her English is fluent. Later, she returned to South Korea. After schooling, she completed her higher studies overseas. She also took a degree from Ewha Womans University situated in Seoul, South Korea. Subsequently, she worked as a TV journalist.
In 2005, Claudia competed in Korea-China modeling competition and won it. Producer Oh Se-kang was impressed with her looks and and offered her an acting break in Queen of the Game in 2006. She won accolades for this role.
After that, there was no looking back. She grabbed a number of meaty roles that led to a rise in her popularity. She has starred in Hollywood blockbusters such as Avengers: Age Of Ultron in 2015, The Dark Tower in 2017, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald in 2018.
Moreover, Claudia has appeared in several Korean dramas like Gyeongseong Creature and The Atypical Family. These two are currently running on South Korean television. She is the first South Korean actress to attend the Women in Film Gala hosted by Italian fashion house Max Mara.
On the other hand, Matthew whose Korean name is Cha Min-geun, was the former general manager of co-working company WeWork Korea. Additionally, he is one of the founders of WeWork Labs.
