An exclusive interview of the 80’s style trend with Julianna Guill gives her thoughts as she is asked some questions. Head back to school tomorrow night with the premiere of TBS’s new comedy, Glory Daze, a fantastic romp through college in the 1980s. Glory Daze is their first shot as the colors, cuts, and college experiences that defined the decade.

Julianna Guill’s wardrobe during ‘Glory Daze’

In the interview, Julianna Guill reveals her favorite thing while working on Flory Daze. The best and most exciting thing for her was her wardrobe. She finds excitement when her wardrobe consists of colorful outfits.

She says:

“One of my favorite things about working on Glory Daze is getting to wear amazing 80s outfits coupled with fabulously over-the-top hair and makeup. My wardrobe usually consists of colorful sweaters, denim skirts, high-waisted shorts, crop tops, dangly earrings, jean , and of course, panty hose and shoulder pads.”

She seems to be fond of trending fashions. She excitedly added more:

“Of all the trends I’ve experienced on the show, I’ve really grown to love the shoulder pads. I’ve even started incorporating them into my everyday life, and I’m telling you, they’re going to make a comeback! I think in fashion we’re seeing a lot of ’80s trends coming back into people’s closets, like leggings worn under shorts and skirts. It’s really fun to go retro from time to time, and I’ve been seeing people leaning that way more and more in their fashion choices.”

When she was asked about the two guys created by the ‘Glory Daze’, she claims the importance of a long triangle in most of the series. According to her:

“Well, you can’t have a TV show without a love triangle – let’s be honest. The scene [where Joel finds out Christie has a boyfriend] is one of my favorite scenes in the pilot. It’s kind of heartbreaking, but it does hint at a lot of fun in these upcoming episodes.”

Moreover, Julianna also came up with the nature of 80’s fashion.

“It’s funny, in this industry you really have to let go of any kind of idea you have – or attachment you have – to the way you look. Because you’re not in charge of that anymore. At first I was nervous, but we have the most amazing costuming department, so it’s awesome. And I’ve grown pretty attached to shoulder pads and pantyhose.

Julianna Guill, being the only girl in the ‘Glory Daze’

Julianna explains about being the one and only girl in the environment. Though the on-screen has only her as a girl, there are lots of women in make-up and hair departments included off-screen.

“Julianna Guill: I know, I spend my entire life around dudes right now. Some of the things that have started coming out of my mouth are terrible! I keep telling myself, “don’t ever repeat that!” [laughs] But it can be nice being the only girl in a work environment, but at the same time there are lots of women in make-up and hair departments.”

The Glory Daze star also talked about those departments where she was born in 1987. She said:

Julianna’s off-screen in Glory Daze

The star also shared her having fun off-screen as well. She said:

“I can’t call this work everyday – I go hang out with these beautiful men every day, it’s pretty sweet. It’s like, “when can they all take their clothes off again?” you’ll actually catch glimpses of them in their undies a couple more times in the next few episodes.”
