The couple has been in the spotlight since Zendaya was seen wearing a diamond ring at the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5.
At the event, she showcased a stunning diamond ring on her left hand, which led many to wonder if she was engaged.
A family source confirmed to PEOPLE that Holland proposed at one of Zendaya’s family homes during the holiday season.
Similarly, it is said that everyone close to them was aware that an engagement was imminent, although the timing was a surprise.
The source mentioned that Holland had been eager to propose to Zendaya “for a while.” The source said,
“He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,”
Similarly, Holland reportedly shared the exciting news with friends around New Year’s. The source continued,
“They will just enjoy things for now and won’t rush a wedding. They are both busy with work projects.”
A source further concluded by saying to the PEOPLE,
“Tom has always had a sweet way of showing the world that Zendaya belongs to him, and now it’s official — she truly is his”
Tom Holland’s holiday plans with Zendaya hint at engagement
Zendaya attended the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5 and showcased a diamond ring on her left hand, which many believe is an engagement ring from Tom Holland.
The ring is a 5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring designed by jeweler Jessica McCormack and is listed in the engagement section on the brand’s website.
Holland revealed his holiday plans during an appearance on the Dish podcast on December 18.
He stated that he would spend Christmas in the U.S. with his now-fiancee, Zendaya, and her family, but the specific location of their celebration remains a secret.
Holland expressed excitement about the gathering, saying,
“I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun, Where we’ll be is a secret,”
He further humorously said,
“[Secret] to you guys, I’ll know where we’re going.”
How long have Zendaya and Tom Holland been dating?
Tom Holland and Zendaya, who portray Peter Parker and Michelle “MJ” Jones in the Spider-Man films, initially claimed they had been friends for several years.
