Aakangchha Pathak: Meet the youngest Asian to walk in New York Fashion Week

• Aakangchha Pathak is a native of Nepal who currently resides in Texas, the US to pursue her modeling career
• She modeled for KASA on Mount Everest at Kalapathar, Everest Base Camp, Solukhumbu in 2020
• Recently, she walked the ramp at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this year
• Pathak became the first Nepali to walk in New York Fashion Show, USA, and the youngest overall

Aakangchha Pathak, an 18-year-old Nepali is the only Asian to walk the ramp at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this year on Friday. She is also the first Nepali to walk in New York Fashion Show, USA and the youngest overall.

She said,

“It was my dream to walk the New York Fashion Week. I feel very happy and proud to represent my country in such a big event.”

NYFW is a semi-annual event of runway shows and presentations used to highlight the designer’s collection for the next fashion season organized from February 11 to February 16. The events are usually held in the fashion capitals of the world; Paris, Milan, London, and New York. This year, the event takes place at The Bowery Hotel in New York City.

The show features a total of 32 models this year and she is the one selected out of 1000 models from around the world. At the age of 16, Pathak started her modeling career and modeled for KASA on Mount Everest which was held at Kalapathar, Everest Base Camp, Solukhumbu in the 4^th week of January 2020. The show holds Guinness’s world record thus.

Aakangchha Pathak: Beauty pageant

Aakangchha started her journey through the beauty pageant titled “SLC Princess” organized by Season Media in Nepal. In the Pageant, she won the title “Organizer’s Choice” and got a 75% scholarship for her High school i.e. +2 in Himalaya Whitehouse International College (HWIC).

Pathak trained under International Fashion Choreographer, Rojin Shakya. In 2019, She made her career breakthrough after selecting for Nepal TGIF Fashion Week. Later on, she got the opportunity to walk the ramp for the event Journey of Fashion XIV.

She then went to the USA to study in the Global STEM program at George Mason University. As of now, she resides in Texas, US. In 2020, she got a chance to walk on the World’s highest fashion runway organized by Kasa, RB Diamond, and the agency Pro Model Nepal.
