When there occurs a leak or hole in the gastrointestinal wall due to varied reasons, it is considered a gastrointestinal perforation. It could be due to post-trauma such as after a knife or gunshot wound.

There are other medical conditions that could also lead to it and including appendicitis, diverticulitis, and the like.

“I couldn’t stop. Eventually things got so bad that I couldn’t hide it, and then everybody knew.”

He was in rehab twice for his chronic problem. Perry came out and was able to help others with similar problems. He said at that time:

“I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my life and a lot of wonderful accolades, I ‘ve learned a lot from my failures, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic comes up to me and says ‘Will you help me stop drinking?’ I will say ‘Yes, I know how to do that’.”
